One of the most important parts of any new job is figuring out what you’ll be paid – and when. Especially when you’re starting a new career from home and want to make sure you’re engaging with a legitimate job opportunity! And when that new stay-at-home job comes with an extensive training schedule? You need to know if that training is offered!
While the training provided in traditional employment roles is standard, this is not always the case when it comes to working from home. Many companies only offer unpaid training. And even though it’s unpaid, it’s usually still needed. For some people, you don’t have time to spare when you get your first paycheck. If that’s you, I’ve put together a list of 15 employee job opportunities that definitely pay for training.
1. Alorica at home
Alorica at home Provides customer service for a variety of clients, so you spend your time fielding incoming calls, entering and verifying customer information, answering customers’ questions, addressing their concerns, and possibly offering additional products or services. They also provide paid training on a fixed schedule alongside training other staff through instructor-led training (ILT) in a virtual classroom setting. For some projects, you may engage in Computer Based Training (CBT) which allows you to progress at your own pace.
the amazon Hiring people in various remote locations, often in customer service (and speaking multiple languages can help land one of these jobs!) they offer 4 weeks of paid training at $10 an hour (unless otherwise required by law). They also have location-based restrictions, so make sure to check the states they’re hiring from before applying.
3. Apples at home
apple A-Home Advisor positions not only for their benefits package (even for part-time employees!) but because they’ll send you an iMac and headset to work on your advisory position. Their training schedule typically lasts 5 to 7 weeks in a virtual classroom under a live instructor. They provide reimbursement for internet services.
Asurion, much like Allorica, works with over 100 companies to provide them with customer service, technical support and more. Their ideal workplace candidates should be passionate about technology (and enjoy solving those technology problems), be friendly and listen well, and of course be a problem solver who can think outside the box to improve their clients’ customers.
concentrated Also hires customer service representatives to handle inbound calls from their customers’ customers – you’ll troubleshoot technical concerns, educate customers about purchases, process returns, and more. They offer 3 weeks of paid training and advertise a “new competitive starting wage”. Make sure you have high-speed Internet access with a traditional landline and a headset with a noise-canceling microphone and a mute button.
converges Providing customer service solutions to their clients and, if you work for them, you will be assigned to various projects. The training they provide varies depending on the project you’re assigned to, and some projects may be more sales-focused or technically inclined. You’ll have the opportunity to let them know if you’re more comfortable with authentic customer service, sales, or providing technical support during the hiring process.

enterprise Hires customer service representatives and, although the position is home-based, you must apply to job listings listed within the state in which you live. Their pay starts at $12.85 an hour and you have the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses. Once you complete their 6-week paid training, you will be assigned a set schedule. (Try searching for “work from home” in the keyword field of their job search site.)
goFLUENT Various global corporations hire people who can help teach English as a second language. For this reason, they are looking for native English speakers with amazing language skills who also have some business or corporate experience. You must also have high-speed Internet access on a computer with Windows 7 or better (or a Mac with 10.5 or higher) and a telephone.
Hilton Hilton is a huge supporter of remote workers and hires people to work from home in their Reservations and Customer Care (HRCC) positions. Some employees work as reservation sales specialists while others work as customer care coordinators. The first involves being the first point of contact with their clients and acting as a persuasive salesperson who easily builds rapport with callers. Customer Care Coordinators must have excellent communication skills with lots of patience and positivity. They also offer flexibility in their paid training schedule!
Hyatt Virtual Guest Service Associates are hiring periodically, though they only hire from certain states so check the list before proceeding. If you are renting, they will provide you with a computer, IP phone (and amplifier), an adapter for dual monitors and a headset. You will need to provide the monitor and high-speed Internet connection. Their paid training classes last for 14 weeks.
Marriott Reservation sales specialists work from home for a number of jobs, including those who assist their customers over the phone. This includes making reservations, processing cancellations, assisting customers with their lodging choices, explaining Marriott policies, and more. Job listings usually identify which position is up for change, so keep an eye out for that detail. Paid training lasts 4 weeks. This job also comes with some nice perks like hotel room discounts! (Note that their work-from-home position may begin after 6 months with the option to go remote.)
Pearson Dedicated to making education more affordable and accessible to students worldwide, they look for their potential employees with enthusiasm for learning, the ability to think creatively, dedication to customer service, and more. They offer a full suite of amenities that you can tailor to your needs. Their positions fall into several categories, from technology and scoring to marketing and education. Whether you board a career path or become an assessment scorer, you can expect paid training.
SYKES HOME Hiring employees to provide customer service from home – You’ll be taking inbound calls to assist customers, so make sure you like helping people, can multitask, and like learning new skills. In addition to paid training, they also offer medical benefits that include vision and dental as well as performance incentives and advancement opportunities. You must have a Windows-based computer at home with high-speed Internet access and at least 2 headsets.
Williams-Sonoma Hiring full-time customer care associates as long as you live within a 1.5-hour drive of one of their customer care centers – so pay attention to the position on the job listing! This position includes taking calls from all Williams-Sonoma brand customers, placing orders for them, assisting with returns, locating products, etc. After you successfully complete the training they provide, you will be paid $12 per hour and can work 30 to 50 hours per week.
