5 skills will be offered for on-demand virtual assistants [Updated 2022]

If you are a virtual assistant, or want to be one, no one will know it like you. Many people call themselves virtual assistants – or not – and yet their service offerings can be so different. When offering virtual assistant jobs, you can offer Pinterest marketing but you can also write blog posts for some clients. Maybe you specialize in Facebook ads but you also offer sales funnels.

The term virtual assistant can mean many things to many people. And when online business owners, and perhaps even brick-and-mortar business owners, seek help online they aren’t using the term virtual assistant anyway. They are looking for writers, social marketers, blog managers.

The downside of these more specialized positions is that they often guarantee more specialized rates. A copywriter can without question demand a higher rate than a typical blog post writer. The latter may be able to offer more than the same quality of writing at the end of the day, but it’s all in the mindset of the client.

If you’re looking to up your game and your rate in 2017, here are some of the in-demand services that virtual assistants are likely to offer.

Email Marketing

When I first started my online business, there was no Pinterest, Instagram, Periscope, etc., no Twitter and Facebook. As a result, we had to build our email list from day one. After all these social media platforms were launched, many people started focusing all their time, money and energy on social marketing as opposed to email marketing. Sadly, many are now seeing that this was a bad business plan.

You see, when it comes time to run a flash sale, announce a new product, or simply sign a new client, nothing is more effective than sending an email to a list of people who have already expressed interest in your product or service. nothing

The reason email marketing is falling behind so quickly is because it’s not as fun, sexy, and easy as social marketing. You can’t just send out cat memes via email and think that will get people to buy your stuff. That’s not how this works. You need skill and strategy. That’s where you can steal the show as an email marketing expert.

There are two routes you can take here. You can offer their specific email marketing services on any platform, or you can dig deeper and focus on one service provider like MailChimp. The strategy is much the same, the implementation is where things will differ.

Some email marketing services you can offer:

  • Create or edit newsletters
  • Create email templates
  • Creating and/or implementing drip campaigns
  • Opt-in form design
  • Implement sequence and automation features
  • Newsletter editorial calendar
  • Analysis
  • Sales funnel consulting or implementation
  • A/B testing
  • Platform transfer

Webinar

Webinars are big business these days, but putting them together and making them successful is a lot of work. Some of the services you can offer as a webinar virtual assistant are:

  • Helping clients choose a webinar platform
  • Setting up the opt-in page
  • Setting up automatic email sequences
  • Creating slides
  • Sound and video check
  • Organizing participant questions before and during the webinar
  • Solve technical problems
  • Linking to resources during webinars
  • Replays are made available to participants
  • Transcribing the webinar

Facebook ads

Facebook ads are the latest fad. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to implement compared to some other advertising options. These can be a huge waste of time and money if not done correctly. As a Facebook Ads Specialist you can offer services such as:

  • Creating ads, ad sets and campaigns
  • Audience targeting
  • Conversion reporting
  • Landing page creation
  • Strategy advice

Copywriting

what do Copywriting Even mean? “Copy” is just advertorial text. When you apply this to online business needs, you have a lot of things that could be considered duplicates. You may immediately think of sales pages, but you also have landing pages, emails, blog posts, social media status updates, headlines… anything promotional in nature that needs to be polished and effective to convert leads.

Here you need to have some skills. Just because you can write a simple 500-word blog post about how to clip coupons doesn’t mean you can write copy. You need to know how to create sound to get people to take action. Once you can do this and help your clients make more money, you can make more money.

WordPress management and maintenance

Bloggers, or those with blogs, are one of the biggest markets in need of virtual assistants right now A lot goes into a WordPress site, someone needs to be around to deal with blips, tweaks and updates. As a WordPress assistant you can offer the following:

  • Migration from Blogger to WordPress
  • Design
  • Updates and technical support
  • Platform integration
  • seo
  • Analysis
  • Backup
  • Post scheduling and publishing
  • Comment management

Just because you’ve chosen to specialize in one of the virtual assistant fields above doesn’t mean you have to give every example on my list, nor does it mean you have to exclude other offerings. Successful VAs craft packages that match a specific skill set with a specific client so that you gain expertise. It’s your business. You are the master.
