With tax season upon us, we’re seeing more and more remote tax-related job postings. With the right background and experience, this can be a profitable, legitimate work from home opportunity. Today we’re looking specifically at some of the positions available with Intuit, owner of TurboTax and other popular financial software.

There are three primary remote positions available at Intuit; Tax Support Specialist, Tax Advisor Specialist and Senior Tax Advisor Specialist. None of these locations offer full tax preparation services but rather answer questions and offer expert advice

Intuit Remote Tax Support Specialists

job description: This is a seasonal customer service position. You will provide tax assistance to TurboTax customers. Assist customers who are dealing with product/software inquiries on their tax returns as well as tax queries and calculations, apply defined practices, procedures and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve product and tax support customer inquiry issues and communicate with customers using strong do Written and verbal skills as well as deep customer empathy.

qualification:

• College degree preferred. A background in business, finance, accounting, or tax is required.
• Basic knowledge of tax laws and tax concepts.
• Some experience preparing federal and state returns for individuals (1040)
• Some experience providing support in a call center environment is a plus (work from home or on site)
• Work history with a tax preparation firm is a plus

Intuit Work-From-Home Tax Advisory Specialists

job description: In this position, you will provide guidance to TurboTax customers and explain tax terms.

qualification:

• Must have active certification, EA (Enrolled Agent) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
• Experience preparing federal and state personal (1040) tax returns, minimum 5 years. Preparation of business returns (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041) is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of tax laws.
• Ability to research tax topics and explain tax concepts to taxpayers.
• Audit experience is a plus.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using tax software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Intuit Remote Senior Tax Advisor Specialist

job description: Senior Tax Advisor specialists manage teams of seasonal agents, hire and train seasonal agents, assist with client tax and audit communications in the off-season, and participate in additional projects.

qualification:

• Must have an active credential, EA (Enrolled Agent) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
• Experience preparing federal and state personal (1040) tax returns, minimum 5 years. Business Return (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041) Preparation a plus College degree preferred
• Management in remote call center environments
• Extensive knowledge of tax laws.
• Ability to research tax topics and explain tax concepts to taxpayers.
• Audit experience is a plus.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using tax software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

What does Intuit provide tax experts?

Salary is hourly and based on experience. The uncertain The base number is $16 per hour according to some recent hires. There is also Supposedly a bonus Up to $8,000 for those completing the entire tax season.

These are employee positions with a schedule and minimum hourly commitment.
