I am trying to do occasional blog posts for recruiting firms in various specific states. So far, I’ve covered California, Texas, and Florida. New York in the next position on the list!

New York is one of the most populous states in the United States. And unfortunately, I don’t often see it dropped. Many companies say they can’t hire from New York. However, this is often the case with freelance roles.

But all hope is not lost. If you live in New York and you want to work from home, below are 10 companies hiring within the state.

If you don’t live in NY, you should browse these openings anyway. Most of them are open to other US states as well.

Ranker – Data Operations Assistant (read review). CA, NY, AZ, IL, TX, VA, WA, PA. Mostly a copyediting job. Must have extensive knowledge of pop-culture for fact-checking purposes and good research skills. Salary is not disclosed.

First Quarter Finance – Researcher. Except in the US, CA, MA, NJ, or NY. Must have a passion for meticulous research. Resume required. Flexible schedule. Pay rate not given.

with courage – Executive Assistant. United States (except Washington, DC, Alaska and Hawaii) and United Kingdom. A minimum of 7 years of direct experience as an executive assistant or senior administrative assistant to one or more executives plus 4 years of calendar management experience including coordination of meetings, appointments and scheduling for executives. Starting salary at $24-$28 per hour (UK £18).

BKA Content – Author of product description (read reviews). Must be at a college writing level with English grammar, spelling and punctuation and ability to meet tight deadlines. Average rates vary, but they say you can earn around $14-$21/hour depending on speed.

ZOE – Customer Support Associates. CT, GA, IN, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA. Strong problem solving and communication skills are required, as well as availability for a flexible schedule. Salary unknown.

Hierview – Customer support representative. In several US states, shifts will be MST. 2+ years of experience in a customer service role required, as well as excellent communication skills. Salary $17.50/hour.

Height is health – Customer Care Representative. You must live within 50 miles of Latham, NY, Middletown, NY, Manchester, NH, Wallingford, CT, South Portland, ME, or Roanoke, VA. Full-time, pay between $16.25 and $17.50 per hour. Benefits included. A high school diploma or equivalent and previous experience or any combination of education and experience that will provide an equivalent background is required.

localization – Ad quality rater. Anywhere in the US, including NY. English speaking. You will use a unique, web-based tool to evaluate search engine ads based on project guidelines Pays $15 an hour. This is a W2 role, not an independent contractor.

knock – Loan originator. USA, including NY since the company is located in NY. Must have 3+ years of experience as a licensed mortgage loan originator with an emphasis on purchase loans and $15mm+ in closed purchase volume in the last 12 months.

scheme – Fact checker. NY (in office) or remote. Supporting the Skim Money, Skim Well, Skim Parenting, and SEO editorial teams with fact-checking editorial newsletters and web content. At least 2+ years of experience in a fact-checking specific position or in a writing/editing role. Graduate degree preferred. Pays between $30 and $35 per hour.
