Many people are looking for ways to make money on weekends. Maybe you’re looking for something you can take on full-time at some point in the future, or maybe you want to earn a little extra cash for a vacation or down payment. Whatever your inspiration, I have some great side hustle ideas to share today.

Become an Uber driver

Rideshare Guy shared with us that Uber drivers can make a great side income by shuttling people around. That’s not too shabby for a gig you can work on your own terms. He tells us that weekends are the best time of the week to pick up work. Friday and Saturday nights are especially busy as party-goers look for a designated driver. Becoming a reseller is another opportunity with maximum flexibility. Cynthia Stine has built a full-time income working just 10 hours per week on her Amazon FBA business. And the weekends are a great time to pick up things to resell because that’s when many flea markets and garage sales are going on.

Make your purchases. Please list your items. Drop everything off to send to Amazon on the way to work Monday morning. Your small side business can run itself while you’re at your 9-to-5. You can’t ask for a better deal.

These gigs can be event staff or brand ambassador titles. Companies are looking for someone to hand out samples or help people find their seats at a concert. Not only are they a great way to make some great extra money, but you might be able to catch a sporting event or concert for free.

Be a bookkeeper

You don’t need an accounting degree to perform some basic bookkeeping duties. Many businesses are still not operating completely online or paper-free like many of us. This means receipts and invoices still need to be entered into software like QuickBooks I often see remote bookkeeper job listings on FlexJobs that only list researched telecommuting positions.

Start a blog

Blogging can take some time to make a profit, but it offers a lot of flexibility. Posts and social media updates can be scheduled in advance, allowing you to write on the weekend and focus on your day job during the week. Emails and comments can be answered in bulk once per day. This isn’t a great option if you’re looking for quick cash, but it’s something you should consider working into your long-term passive income plan.

Video is all the rage these days, with more than a third of the internet-using public using YouTube You can create videos on virtually anything, from subscription box reviews to make-up application how-tos to sharing your thoughts on the book you just finished reading. Maybe you don’t want to work too hard on your weekends, but still want to earn a little cash. Consider microtasking! All the small tasks launched on microtasking sites require human attention, but they don’t require your undivided attention or huge time investment. You can easily enter data or identify items in a photo or transcribe image text while listening to an audiobook or watching your latest shows.

Currently the biggest site for microtasks is mTurk (or Amazon Mechanical Turk) and it’s easy to get started. You can even convert your earnings directly into Amazon gift cards. Make a furry friend

Any day you meet a friendly new dog is a great day – so why not make it a point of the weekend? Let your friends and neighbors know that you’re up for pet-sitting any weekend, and that you’re willing to take an afternoon (or anytime) walk. You can sign up to work the rover – They offer pet services such as dog boarding, drop-in visits, doggy day care, and dog walking. While running your own errands or buzzing around town on the weekend, why not help someone else with their small tasks as well? There are people out there who need someone local to pick up milk from the grocery store or a handyman to finish light fixtures for them. Do you love baking? If so, this is a hobby you can indulge in and make some money along the way! Freshly baked goods are addictively popular, even if they’re delivered straight to your door. Your friends and family – even your neighbors! – Know you bake and take orders, then spend your weekends making cookies and cakes and pies for profit. Just make sure you do it safely and correctly – follow all food safety guidelines (and get permission from the health department if necessary) and find out if you need a permit for this home-based business. You can take orders only through referrals or set up a website to display your goods and take orders online. Either way, it’s a pretty sweet deal!
