1. Tips and Tricks

Earn money by referring friends on Amazon

You can earn a hefty bonus for referring your friends to shop on Amazon. And you don't have to have your own website! You’d be hard-pressed to find a person who doesn’t love, or at least shop on Amazon regularly. The site currently has over 200 million products available for purchase. A wide variety of categories allows customers to pick up almost everything they need, from groceries to designer handbags, in one shopping trip to save time and shipping costs.

Like many people, I consider Amazon store credit to be as good as cash in most cases. The Amazon gift cards I earn from surveys and shopping apps like Ibotta mean I don’t actually have to dip into my bank account when it comes to replenishing my reading stock or buying Christmas presents.

Even better, in addition to earning gift cards outside of Amazon, you can also earn a hefty bonus for encouraging your friends to shop at Amazon. And you don’t have to have your own website!

Earn $5 for referring your friends to Amazon Prime

Although I can make money through affiliate programs as a blogger and a merchant, if it’s somewhere I shop regularly I often use my personal referral link instead. Why? Because many merchants don’t allow you to earn money from referring friends, you can also pay your referrals a little cash to spend.

When you refer your friends Amazon Prime, you’ll get a $5 credit toward your next purchase, and your friend will get $5 to spend, too. Fabulous! They get $5 to spend and a 30-day free trial. Why won’t they sign up?

Make sure when you recommend the service to include the features and big selling points you like; Free 2-day shipping, free photo storage, early access to Prime Music and Prime Video and sales. That comes in handy during the holidays.

Earn $5 for referring your friends to Amazon Prime Student

Prime student A streamlined version of the popular Prime service made strictly for college students. It comes with a cheap price tag. But, that doesn’t mean they skimp on your favors. You’re still going to earn $5 and your friend will get $5 to spend. If you work quickly, you may have a little extra on top.

Get a $5 off $10 purchase coupon for referring people to the Amazon Shopping app

I use the Amazon shopping app a lot these days. They will give you and your referral a $5 off coupon on your first in-app purchase.

Download the app. (If a referral code is requested you can use ASN6991N to get your $5 coupon.) Press your account button above. Under personalized content you will find friend invitations. Then you can invite from your contacts or share your code

I recommend keeping an eye on your Amazon apps and special accounts; Prime, Student, Subscribe and Save, Audible, etc. While they don’t offer ongoing referral bounties, they do pop up on occasion. And sometimes they increase the credit from the usual $5.

Amazon limits their referral credit to $1,000 per year. But, I’ll take $1,000 in free Amazon orders any day. Won’t you?

More Amazon Money Opportunities

If you can’t get enough Amazon Credit like me, here are a few ways to collect some free stuff.

Ibotta – This is my favorite grocery shopping app. They offer cashback when you purchase certain items. Scan your receipt when you get home and the money will be credited to your account within hours. You can then cash out for PayPal or gift cards.

Best of all, you can earn $10 for every two friends you refer to Ibotta. Refer four friends and you’re good enough for a $20 Amazon gift card. Those arrive via email within minutes of making the request.

Ebbets – I love Ebbets. Not only do you get cash back for shopping online, they also have a great refer-a-friend program. It’s usually $5 per person plus bonuses when you refer 2, 10, 25 friends.

Until you reach a certain threshold, Ebates usually asks if you want to receive your quarterly payment by check or Amazon credit. You’ll also get a free $10 gift card when you sign up and make a qualifying online purchase.

Swagbucks – This is another no-brainer. Signing up is free and you’ll earn Swagbucks or SB, which you can redeem for cash or gift cards on sites like Amazon.

As you can see, you have many opportunities to get free purchases that you may or may not need. What’s holding you back from making money by referring your friends to Amazon?

PS That’s not the only thing this great site has to offer. Learn how to sell stuff on Amazon full-time. Or maybe get a real job with the company – and keep working at home!
